'Plane left Brindisi with 60 tonnes of food, medicines'

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 18 - A humanitarian flight carrying over 60 tonnes of food and medicines for civilians in the Gaza Strip has landed in Amman from Brindisi, Italian Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani wrote on X Thursday.
    "Food for Gaza. A humanitarian flight that departed from the Brindisi base with more than 60 tons of food aid and medicines for the civilian population of the Gaza Strip has landed in Amman.
    "A humanitarian initiative of the government which I have launched with FAO, WFP (World Food Program) and the Red Cross", Tajani said.
    Food for Gaza is an initiative Italy has spearheaded to get food aid to Palestinian civilians with UN agencies FAO and WFP.
