by FI leader and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani to get the
foreign minor school citizenship proposal tabled.

FI's ruling allies the rightwing League and Premier Giorgia
Meloni's rightwing Brothers of Italy (fDI) parties have both
come out strongly against the idea of granting citizenship to
children of migrants who have completed at least one cycle of

"I greatly appreciated Tajani's words," said Bonaccini, No 2 to
PD leader Elly Schelin, adding: "I think that if FI is serious
about this, as I hope, there can be a parliamentary majority,
cross-party, can find reasons for agreement on ius scholae".
