(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 11 - Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti is looking at ways to cut taxes for parents who have children that are economically dependent on them in the 2025 budget law as part of the government's efforts to combat Italy's declining birth rate, according to an article published by conservative daily Il Foglio on Wednesday.
The report said the move would require five or six billion euros in financial coverage.
It said Giorgetti wants to "change tax-deductions rules in our country, giving those who have more children the opportunity to pay fewer taxes, regardless of their income, even at the cost of eliminating or reviewing some tax deductions for people who do not have children, in order for increase them for those who do".
