(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 12 - Rachele Mussolini, a Rome city
councillor and the granddaughter of Fascist dictator Benito
Mussolini, has announced that she is leaving Premier Giorgia
Meloni's right-wing Brothers of Italy (FdI) party and joining
its centre-right ally, Forza Italia (FI).
"I will enter FI very soon," Rachele Mussolini told ANSA on
Thursday.
"Everyone had been informed.
"I thank FdI for having believed in me and having supported me
for two candidacies.
"The affection and esteem remain, but it is time for me to turn
the page and join a party that I feel is closer to my moderate,
centrist sensibilities". (ANSA).
