(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 27 - Deputy Premier, Transport Minister
and rightwing League party leader Matteo Salvini on Sunday asked
if a judge would make authorities keep in Italy a Pakistani man
accused of raping a 14-year-old Italian girl at a bus stop in
Bolzano, like the 12 Bangladeshi and Egyptian migrants whose
detention in a new processing centre in Albania was nixed by a
Rome court that ordered their transfer to Italy last week.
"Let's see if there will be a judge in this case too who will
force us to keep this precious foreign 'resource' in Italy,"
said Salvini, who is facing a requested jail term of six years
for allegedly kidnapping 147 migrants by refusing to let them
off a Spanish NGO run rescue ship in Lampedusa for 19 days five
years ago as part of his controversial closed ports policy as
then hardline anti-migrant interior minister.
Salvini posted his question on Instagram, also posting the news
of the fourteen-year-old girl allegedly raped at a bus stop in
the northern city, for which a man of Pakistani origins also
living in Bolzano was arrested. (ANSA).
