(see related) (ANSA) - ROME, JAN 7 - Elly Schlein, the leader of the opposition, centre-left Democratic Party (PD), on Tuesday demanded that Premier Giorgia Meloni report to parliament over the Starlink case, saying both Elon Musk and Deputy Premier and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini had contradicted the premier's office after it dismissed reports of an agreement.
"The Italian Right's rush to kiss the slipper of the world's richest man's slipper would be ridiculous, if it were it not for the fact that national security, Italian citizens' money and their sensitive data are at stake," Schlein said.
"Yesterday Deputy Premier Salvini and Musk's own confirmation effectively contradicted the statement by premier's office that claimed an agreement for the use of the Starlink system is not being concluded between the government and SpaceX". (ANSA).
