(ANSA) - Rome, November 10 - International stem cell
researchers are planning to fix a date in 2018 for the first
tests on a man using embryonic stem cells.
The plan was decided in a meeting of researchers from
Europe and the United States during a conference on the use of
stem cell therapy for neuro-degenerative diseases in the Italian
Senate.
Stem-cell treatment, which is legal in Italy in
life-threatening instances, is contentious since it sometimes
involves the destruction of a human embryo.
