(ANSA) - Rome, April 13 - Italy tops a list of 29
industrialised countries worldwide in solar energy use, with
photovoltaic (PV) energy making up 8% of its energy needs, said
the International Energy Agency's Photovoltaic Power Systems
Programme (IEA-PVPS) in the 4th edition of its annual report
"Snapshot of Global PV Markets".
Italy was followed by Greece at 7.
The report said PV production increased by 50 gigawatts in
2015, for a total of 227 GW installed worldwide.
The world's top PV market in 2015 was China, where PV
production grew by 15.3 GW, followed by Japan, the US, the EU,
and India.
