(ANSA) - Brussels, January 25 - Italy is fourth from last in
Europe for internet use, with 74% of Italians online against
Europe's 85% average in 2018, according to Eurostat data
released on Friday.
Italians mainly went online to use email (57%), watch videos
(52%) and use social media (46%).
On average, Europeans also mainly used the internet for their
mail (73%), to search for information on for products and goods
(70%), watch videos (57%) and social media (56%), Eurostat said.
Denmark ranked top for internet use - with 95% of users aged
16 to 64 - followed by Luxembourg (97%) and the Netherlands
(95%).
The lowest rate of internet users in the EU was recorded in
Bulgaria (65%), Romania (71%) and Greece (72%), followed by
Italy, Eurostat said.
