(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 18 - A working copy of the latest Mars
rover has been named after Amalia Ercoli Finzi, the first woman
to graduate in aeronautical engineering in Italy and an honorary
lecturer at Milan's Politecnico university, the European Space
Agency (ESA) said Tuesday.
"It's fantastic news, I'm really flattered and honored," Ercoli
Finzi told ANSA after the Turin-based model that will simulate
all the rover's actual moves on the red planet was named after
her.
The ESA rover itself has been named after DNA pioneer Rosalind
Franklin. (ANSA).
