(ANSA) - Brussels, June 3 - European gambling-sector
association Federbet said in a report presented at the European
Parliament on Tuesday that it had suspicions that 10 matches
involving Italian teams were fixed in the 2013-2014 season.
These included a Serie A match between Catania and
Atalanta, four games in the second tier and a friendly between
Lazio and Levski Sofia.
Juventus, the most successful team in Italian domestic
competition, were stripped of two Serie A titles and had to
spend a season in the second tier following the Calciopoli
scandal in 2006 about attempts to arrange compliant referees for
some teams' games.
