Olympics: Lollobrigida to be flag bearer at closing ceremony

(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 16 - Silver medal winning speed skater Francesca Lollobrigida is to be Italy's flag bearer at the Beijing Winter Olympics' closing ceremony at the Bird's Nest on Sunday, the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) said Wednesday.
    31-year-old Frascati-born Lollobrigida, who came second in the 3000m race and is the great-nicee of actress Gina Lollobrigida, was chosen by CONI President Giovanni Malagò and Beijing 2022 delegation chief Carlo Mornati.
    "It's rightful recognition of what Francesca has done so far at Beijing and also a spur for what she will have to do in the coming days," said Malagò. (ANSA).
