(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 11 - Juventus and France midfielder Paul
Pogba has revealed that he came close to quitting football
during a difficult period on both the professional and personal
fronts.
The 30-year-old has been dogged by injury problems since
returning to Juve from Manchester United last year.
He was also the victim of attempted extortion allegedly
involving his brother Mathias.
"Money changes people and it can destroy a family. It can create
a war," the 30-year-old told Al Jazeera.
"Sometimes when I was alone I used to think 'I don't want to
have money any more, I don't want to play football any more'.
"Now I want to make the critics eat their words and show that
I'm not weak.
"I'll never give up". (ANSA).
