Verona say they suffered great injustice in Inter loss

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 6 - Hellas Verona on Saturday expressed outrage that Inter's winning goal in their 2-1 defeat to the Serie A leaders at San Siro was not disallowed, saying they had suffered a "great injustice".
Verona, who are third from bottom ahead of the rest of the weekend's fixtures, said Davide Frattesi's stoppage-time winner should have been scrubbed because Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni elbowed Ondrej Duda in the face in the build-up.
"Today a club that, amid many difficulties, is trying to honour this championship and fight until the end, suffered a great act of disrespect," Verona Director of Sport Sean Sogliano told Dazn.
"It's impossible that trained referees in a VAR room failed to see that the goal should have been disallowed and they failed to alert the referee ""You can't make this sort of mistake in a VAR room. It's either disrespect or it's something else.
"As far as I'm concerned, it's not a mistake.
"Verona and their fans go back home after a great injustice, something really, very serious".
