(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 20 - Italy's only major winner, 2018 Open
champ Francesco Molinari, is on the comeback trail in Mexico
this week after a dry run.
Turin-born 'Chicco' Molinari, 41, failed to make the cut in the
last seven tournaments of 2023 and started 2024 with 73rd place
at the Farmers Insurance Open.
He is now back on the PGA Tour for this week's Mexico Open at
Vallarta, where he came 24th last year.
Molinari is hoping to take advantage of the absence of most of
the world's top players, with reigning champ Tony Finau of the
USA the only Top 30 gofer competing.
Finau, 34, came third in the Open the year after Molinari made
history by winning it. (ANSA).
