(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 27 - Napoli's Brazil defender Juan Jesus
said Wednesday he was "very bitter" at Inter's Italy defender
Francesco Acerbi's acquittal on insufficient evidence of calling
him a negro, saying his mistake was not to stop the March 17
match at the San Siro after the alleged slur was uttered.
"I have read several times, with great regret, the decision with
which the Sporting Judge deemed that there is no proof that I
was the victim of racist insults during the Inter-Napoli match
last 17 March: it is an assessment that, although I respect it,
I find it hard to understand and it leaves me with great
bitterness," said Jesus, whose report was not believed.
"I am sincerely disheartened by the outcome of a serious affair
that I had the only fault of having handled 'like a gentleman',
avoiding interrupting an important match." (ANSA).
