(ANSA) - ROME, APR 2 - Inter moved closer to winning this
season's Serie A title when they beat relegation-threatened
Empoli 2-0 at San Siro on Monday thanks to goals by Federico
Dimarco and Alexis Sanchez.
The victory keeps them 14 points clear of second-placed AC
Milan, who beat Fiorentina 2-1 away on Saturday.
With eight games to go, Simone Inzaghi's men need just 11 points
to clinch Inter's 20th championship and the right to wear a
second star on their shirt next season.
Juventus are six points behind Milan in third after their poor
form continued with a 1-0 loss at Lazio on Saturday.
Surprise-package Bologna continued their drive to qualify for
the Champions League on Sunday, beating bottom side Salernitana
3-0 at home to take their tally up to 57 points and consolidate
fourth place.
AS Roma are five points further back in fifth after a goalless
draw at Lecce. (ANSA).
