Ali second, two Italians under 10'' in same race for first time

(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 19 - Italy's Olympic champ Marcell Jacobs set the third fastest time of his career in winning the 100 metres in the Paavo Nurmi Games atTurku, Finland, Tuesday night, and the fifth best in the world this year as he looks to retain his Tokyo sprint title in Paris.
    The 28-year-old El Paso born Olympic and European champ ran 9.92 seconds, higher only than the 9.80 of the final in Tokyo and the 9.84 of the semi-final in Japan.
    The time puts him in 5th place on the world list for the year when the Paris Olympics are a month and a half away.
    Also at Turku, 25-year-old Italian-Nigeria-Ghanaian sprinter Chituru Ali came second in a time of 9-96 seconds, breaking the 10 second barrier for the first time and becoming the second Italian after Jacobs to do so. (ANSA).
