(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 20 - The South Korean football association has referred the case of an alleged racist jibe regarding forward Hwang Hee-chan being called "Jackie Chan" by an unnamed Como player during a pre-season friendly against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday to FIFA; AFP reported on Saturday.
The association has sent a letter to international soccer's governing body expressing "serious concern about the racist acts suffered by Hwang Hee-chan", according to the report.
On Tuesday promoted Serie A side Como said there had been not any racist intent, saying their player "did not say anything in a derogatory manner" and arguing the incident was blown out of proportion by the reaction of the Wolves players.
Como said their player had said: "ignore him, he thinks he's Jackie Chan", arguing the remark was a reference to Hwang's name and to him being called 'Channy' by his own teammates. (ANSA).
