(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 5 - Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini have
won Italy's first ever Olympic tennis gold medal after beating
Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider representing the neutral AIN
team 2-6 6-1 (10-7) to win the women's doubles.
"We got off to a terrible start, it was hard, but we immediately
recovered and now we are beyond happy", Errani said on Sunday
night.
Paolini also noted it was "extremely hard" but the initial
tension experienced during the match "went away" and the emotion
was "unique". (ANSA).
