(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 5 - Olympic high jump champion Gianmarco
'Gimbo' Tamberi announced he had to postpone his departure for
Paris to participate in the Olympics due to a high fever
possibly due to kidney stones.
"Incredible … it can't be true", he wrote on social media late
on Sunday.
"Three days from a competition for which I sacrificed
everything, I'm lying in bed, powerless, with a 38.8 C fever",
he added.
The athlete wrote on Instagram that he was advised to reschedule
his flight on Monday "in the hope that, with a little bit of
rest, the nightmare will finish". (ANSA).
