(ANSA) - FLORENCE, SEP 2 - Italy coach Luciano Spalletti said
Monday that he had an awful summer after his side's
disappointing showing at Euro 2024 ended with defeat to
Switzerland in the last 16.
"I had a terrible summer, thinking about the last match of the
European Championships," Spalletti told a press conference at
the national team's base near Florence ahead of the upcoming
Nations League matches against France and Israel.
"I feel responsible for what happened.
"The players are totally exempt from these responsibilities, as
I told them today.
"I put too much pressure on them, I did not give them time to
enjoy wearing the Azzurri jersey.
"Now I have to be the first one to change". (ANSA).
