(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 8 - Monza forward Daniel Maldini, the son
and grandson of AC Milan greats Paolo and Cesare Maldini
respectively, expressed satisfaction on Tuesday after getting
his first Italy call-up for the upcoming Nations League clashes
against Belgium and Israel.
"I think this call-up has come at the right time, a perfect
time," said the player, who turns 23 on Friday, at Italy's
training base at Coverciano near Florence.
"I feel good on the field and I'm happy with my team.
"My father was happy (about the call-up) but he didn't have
anything special to say".
When asked what he'd like for his birthday, he replied: "being
here is already a gift.
"I'm happy and proud. Seeing the photos of my family members at
Coverciano is quite something". (ANSA).
