(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 4 - Real Madrid's Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti said Monday that it is hard to talk about football after last week's deadly floods in Valencia and the surrounding region and said he disagreed with the football authorities decision to play on despite the disaster.
Although Madrid's match against Valencia and the Villarreal-Rayo Vallecano game scheduled to take place last weekend were postponed, the rest of the Spanish top flight's fixtures went ahead.
"Football is a celebration," Ancelotti told a press conference ahead of his side's Champions League match against AC Milan in the Spanish capital on Tuesday.
"You can celebrate when you are well, when your family is well, when everyone is well.
"When people are not well, you can't celebrae.
"Football has to stop in my opinion, because football is the most important thing, but it's also the least important.
"However, we are not the ones in charge and we have to adapt.
"It has been a tragic week and we are sad.
"We are close to Valencia and to all the towns involved.
"I would also like to stress how difficult it is to talk about football and to play it". (ANSA).
