(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 21 - Italy late Wednesday won the 2024
edition of the Billie Jean King Cup as Jasmine Paolini beat
Rebecca Sramkova to clinch a dominant 2-0 victory over Slovakia
in Malaga, Spain.
It was the fifth victory for the Azzurre, led by captain
Tathiana Garbin.
World number four Paolini won 6-2, 6-1 in the second singles
rubber to follow up Lucia Bronzetti's 6-2, 6-4 victory against
Viktoria Hruncakova.
The win came after a fulfilling year for Paolini who finished as
runner-up at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. (ANSA).
