(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 25 - Italy has won the 2024 Davis Cup
after Jannik Sinner completed an impressive year on Sunday
evening in Malaga.
The world number one beat Tallon Griekspoor 7-6, 6-2 to seal a
second consecutive Davis Cup title for Italy.
Earlier in the day, Matteo Berrettini had defeated Botic van de
Zandschulp.
Sinner's victory sealed a 2-0 triumph for Italy against the
Netherlands and capped a successful year for Italian tennis.
"This cup has always a special flavour, it means a lot to us to
have won this trophy", said Sinner.
Sunday's was the third Davis Cup conquered by Italy after the
first clinched in 1976 and the second last year. (ANSA).
