(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 8 - Rino Tommasi, one of Italy's most
popular boxing and tennis commentators and pundits, has died at
the age of 90, the boxing federation and Supertennis, the
Italian Tennis Federation website, jointly announced Wednesday.
With the late Gianni Clerici, from the 1980s on, he formed the
most famous pair of commentators in international tennis, and
had been awarded by the ATP in 1982 and 1991 as journalist of
the year.
His other great passion was boxing, of which he was also an
event organizer.
Tommasi died in his native Verona. (ANSA).
