(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 18 - Sofia Goggia said after winning the World Cup downhill at Cortina d'Ampezzo that winning at the iconic Italian ski resort's historic Olympia delle Tofane piste, which next year will host the Winter Olympics along with Milan, had a greater value than other places on the ski circuit.
"When I reached the finish line and looked for my position on the scoreboard, my heart was in my throat," she told Sky Sport.
"It wasn't the perfect descent, I made a couple of mistakes here and there, but I managed to stay focused.
"You all know how much Cortina means to me, I'm very, very happy. Winning here has greater value," said the 32-year-old from Bergamo.
At the finish line, Goggia knelt in front of the crowd and thanked them for their support. (ANSA).
