Inter beat Atalanta 2-0 to extend Serie A lead

(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 17 - Inter Milan on Sunday night beat title rivals Atalanta to extend their lead at the top of the Serie A table.
Carlos Augusto and Lautaro Martinez scored in the second half of the match to lift the league leaders three points above second placed Napoli and six points above third-placed Atalanta with nine rounds of matches to go.
Earlier on Sunday, Napoli were held by relegation-threatened Venezia to a goalless draw.
Meanwhile the fight for the final Champions League spot is intensifying, with just six points separating six teams in the competition for fourth place after Juventus lost 3-0 at Fiorentina on Sunday night.
After the match at Florence's Artemio Franchi Stadium, Juventus coach Thiago Motta was under even more pressure as his team sank below the top four spots in the standings, shipping seven goals in two matches and scoring none.
Last weekend, the Bianconeri suffered a 4-0 defeat to Atalanta "I take all responsibility", said Motta on Sunday night, adding that, "in football, victories belong to the players, defeats to the coach".
"We must do more", he said calling for unity "to find solutions" after the club said the team will continue the season "all together". (ANSA).
