Ferrari says didn't want to get edge, will learn from errors

(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 23 - Ferrari said Sunday after its cars were disqualified from the China Grand Prix that it had not intended to get a competitive advantage and would learn from its mistakes.
    "There was no intention of taking advantage. We will learn from what happened and make sure we don't make the same mistakes again", Scuderia Ferrari said a note after the disqualifications imposed on both drivers of the Maranello team at the end of s gruelling Chinese GP, in which Charles Leclerc finished fifth and Lewis Hamilton sixth.
    "Following the FIA ;;post-race checks, both of our cars were found to be non-compliant with the regulations for different reasons," read the statement.
    "Car 16 was found to be 1kg underweight and the rear skid wear of car 44 was 0.5mm under the limit. Charles ran a one-stop strategy today and this resulted in very high wear on his tyres, causing the car to be underweight.
    "As for Lewis' skid wear, we misjudged the consumption by a small margin.
    "This is not the way we wanted to end our Chinese GP weekend, neither for ourselves nor for our fans," said Ferrari. (ANSA).
