(ANSA) - Rome, February 13 - German Chancellor Angela Merkel
will be in Rome Saturday February 21 to meet Pope Francis,
Berlin government spokesman Steffen Seibert said Friday
according to the Bloomberg news agency.
Francis and Merkel will examine a range of topics including
dialogue between religions, globalization, international crises
and the role of Europe in the world, Seibert said, according to
Germany's DPA agency.
Merkel is expected to fly to Rome from Paris, where she is
scheduled to meet French President Francois Hollande on February
20 to discuss Germany's presidency of the G7 group of
industrialized countries and developments in Ukraine.
