Poverty relief, defense of religious minorities also on agenda

(ANSA) - New York, September 10 - The refugee crisis facing Europe will be at the centre of talks between United States President Barack Obama and Pope Francis at the White House on September 23, the US administration has said in a statement. The US president and the pope "will continue the dialogue begun in March 2014" when President Obama made an official visit to the pope in the Vatican.
    Other issues on the agenda include assistance for the poor and marginalised, the environment and protection of religious minorities, the White House added. President Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama will be at Andrews air force base to greet the pope when he arrives on September 22.
