Pope sends prayers to Fort McMurray

(ANSA) - Vatican City, May 9 - Pope Francis on Monday sent his prayers to the Canadian city of Fort McMurray where fires have destroyed at least 1,600 buildings and forced the evacuation of 90,000 people, the Fides news agency said.
    In a message, Secretary of State Pietro Parolin said "the Holy Father is saddened by the destruction and suffering caused by the fires raging in the Fort McMurray area. "He is praying for all the displaced people - above all the children - who have lost their homes".
