(ANSA) - Vatican City, December 6 - The Holy See said
Thursday that Pope Francis has reformed how the Vatican City
State is governed via a motu proprio document.
The document, signed November 25, brings in a new law for the
tiny state's government that will come into force on June 7,
2019, and replace previous regulation dating back to 2002.
Cardinal Giuseppe Bertello, the president of the Governorate
of Vatican City State, worked on the document with a special
commission.
The aim of the reform is pursue the aims of "rationalization,
economizing, simplification".
