(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 4 - Pope Francis has said he would like to
visit Kyiv and Moscow to try to help end the war in Ukraine.
"I would like to go (to Ukraine), and I wanted to go to Moscow
first," the Argentine pontiff told Reuters.
"We exchanged messages about this because I thought that if the
Russian president gave me a small window to serve the cause of
peace
"And now it is possible, after I come back from Canada this
month, it is possible that I manage to go to Ukraine.
"The first thing is to go to Russia to try to help in some way,
but I would like to go to both capitals."
The head of the Catholic Church has condemned Russia's invasion
of Ukraine.
But he also recently said that the conflict should not be seen
as a case of good versus evil, adding that the invasion was
"perhaps somehow provoked" by NATO "barking at the gates of
Russia". (ANSA).
