(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 1 - There are responsibilities and
omissions in migrant sea tragedies like Sunday's shipwreck off
Calabria that has claimed a feared 100 lives, the head of the
Italian bishops conference (CEI), Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, said on
Wednesday.
"We must start again from the pain and from this must come a
renewed determination capable of seeing the responsibilities and
also the omissions that can favour tragedies like these", said
Zuppi on Tv2000.
Reiterating that tragedies such as the shipwreck at Cutro in
Calabria must "never happen again" he said "this is why we must
start from this pain and live it, because many times it only
becomes the object of other analyses".
Only in this way, Zuppi said, will it be possible "to find
solutions for a problem that is enormous". (ANSA).
