(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 22 - Noemi Di Segni, the president of the
Union of Italian Jewish Communities, on Wednesday criticised
Pope Francis for saying that the conflict in Israel and
Palestine was not war but terrorism.
"The Pope puts everyone on the same level in terms of the
starting and finishing points," Di Segni told ANSA.
"But the starting point is the terrorism that is used to execute
a plan to exterminate the Jews throughout the world, while the
war is necessary for the defence of Israel and its people.
"It involves suffering, but the victims must be equated with
those who are truly to blame". (ANSA).
