(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 21 - Pope Francis told a general audience
in the Vatican on Wednesday dedicated to the theme "The Spirit
of the Lord is on me" to promote the "perfume of Christ" and
urged attendees not to forget countries at war.
"We know that, unfortunately, sometimes Christians don't promote
the perfume of Christ but the bad smell of sin.
"And let's not forget that sin draws us away from Jesus, gets us
close to the demon, and the devil usually enters through
pockets", he noted, urging to comply with "this sublime vocation
to be the good smell of Christ in the world".
At the end of the general audience, the pontiff then urged
attendees "not to forget martyred Ukraine, which is suffering a
lot, let's not forget Myanmar, South Sudan, North Kivu, and many
countries at war.
"Let's pray for peace.
"And let's not forget Palestine and Israel, may peace be there",
he concluded. (ANSA).
