(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 6 - Pope Francis announced at the Angelus
Sunday that a Consistory will be held on December 8 for the
creation of 21 new cardinals.
The new princes of the Church will come from all over the world,
he said.
Among them are Roberto Repole, archbishop of Turin and
Baldassarre Reina, "from today vicar general of the diocese of
Rome", said Francis.
At the Angelus the Argentine pontiff also reiterated his
sympathies with Israel and again urged the release of all their
hostages in the hands of Hamas in Gaza.
"Tomorrow it will be one year since the terrorist attack against
the population in Israel, to whom I renew my closeness.
"Let us not forget that there are still many hostages in Gaza,
for whom I ask for their immediate release." (ANSA).
