Vincenzo Abbagnale out of Rio

(ANSA) - Rome, February 10 - Vincenzo Abbagnale, world champion and stroke of Italy's eight for the Rio Olympics, will very likely miss the games for a doping ban, his father, Azzurri rowing legend and federation chair Giuseppe said Wednesday.
    "Out of transparency we want to make the announcement. ..He missed three doping tests and the rules are clear," Abbagnale senior said.
    "It was naive of him but according to the regulations it will cost him a one-to-two-year ban".
