(ANSA) - Philadelphia, July 26 - United States First Lady
Michelle Obama and former Democratic presidential contender
Bernie Sanders have given their full backing to former US
secretary of state Hillary Clinton in her bid for the White
House in November.
"There's just one person I believe in for the presidency
and it's Hillary Clinton," Michelle Obama told the Democratic
National Convention underway in Philadelphia.
"This election will decide who has the power to define our
children's future. And I believe in Hillary," she continued,
adding that the former first lady had the "temperament" to be
president.
"Hillary Clinton must become the next president of the
United States, there's no choice," echoed Vermont Senator
Sanders, who lost to Clinton in the Democratic primaries despite
a strong campaign.
"This election must be about bringing our people together,
not dividing us up," he added in a clear reference to Republican
presidential nominee Donald Trump.
