(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 1 - The European Union said Thursday it
was disappointed with Austria over the traffic restrictions
Vienna has introduced at the Brenner Pass with Italy, stressing
that its blockades of traffic were "damaging".
"All measures" unilaterally "taken on the Brenner Pass are not
helpful, also for Austria itself, are not positive and are not
sustainable", European Transport Commissioner Adina Valean said
at the end of the EU Transport Council.
"I am disappointed that while Italy and Germany would approve a
compromise, Austria continues to delay, wants to continue
discussions and does not move" from its position "to accept any
proposal. This is not constructive,' she pointed out. (ANSA).
