(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 16 - Italy and Jordan are at the forefront
of humanitarian issues relating to the Middle East amid the
Israel-Hamas war, Premier Giorgia Meloni's office said after she
met Jordanian King Abdallah II Ibn Al Hussein in Rome Monday.
"The Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, had a very cordial meeting
today at Palazzo Chigi with His Majesty Abdallah II Ibn Al
Hussein, King of Jordan, which was also attended by Vice Premier
and Foreign Minister (Antonio) Tajani and Jordanian Vice Premier
and Foreign Minister (Ayman) Safadi".
"During the talks, the latest developments in the Middle East
were addressed, with a particular focus on possible initiatives
to prevent the widening of the current crisis.
"Italy and Jordan are in the front line to promote the solution
of the most urgent humanitarian problems and the release of the
