(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 8 - Italy is a key NATO ally, Secretary
General Jens Stoltenberg told ANSA Wednesday.
Speaking after meeting Premier Giorgia Meloni in Rome,
Stoltenberg said "I praised Italy foe being a faithful and
important ally of NATO, contributing in many different ways to
the Alliance's missions, a very much appreciated contribution by
a key ally".
Stoltenberg said the meeting with Meloni had been a "good
meeting" and had covered a wide range of issues "that are
currently important for our security".
He recalled that Italy "plays a very important role as G7
president at a critical period for our security". (ANSA).
