Zelensky hails Meloni pressing South on peace summit

(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 13 - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday hailed Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni's pressing the Global South to take part in the upcoming peace summit on Ukraine in Switzerland.
    "With Giorgia Meloni we also talked about the upcoming peace summit in Switzerland and its expected results. I am deeply grateful to Giorgia for her efforts to encourage the countries of the South to participate in the summit," he said on X.
    Posting a photo of his meeting with the premier at the G7 in Borgo Egnazia, he added: "We discussed joint projects aimed at helping Ukraine in the reconstruction of Odessa.
    "I also very much appreciate Italy's decision to organise the next reconstruction conference in Rome in 2025." (ANSA).
