(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 9 - Ukraine's attack on Russia will push
peace away, Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said Friday.
Kyiv has launched a steadily advancing incursion into the
Russian region of Kursk in response to the two-year-long
invasion of its country by Moscow.
"No country should invade another country and we must maintain
this line in this case as well," Crosetto told Italian radio.
"Our attempt is to say that the Russian attack must stop and the
rules of international law must be restored, not to see a
conflict that becomes even harder, that moves onto Russian
territory.
"This will foresee a further deterioration of Russia on the
Ukrainian front and will therefore push the possibility of a
ceasefire, which is the precondition for a path to peace,
further and further away". (ANSA).
