(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 11 - An Italo-Venezuelan woman arrested on August 2 amid a bloody crackdown on protests against the allegedly fraudulent re-election of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has been isolated in a room, not in jail, and is in good health, a Sicilian centre right MP told ANSA Sunday.
Rita Capriti, 45, whose family is originally from Mirto near Messina, "is said to be isolated in a room and not in a cell and is in good health, Commissioner Jose Dellacroiz, the prison's manager, assures," said Forza Italia MP and local mayor Bernardette Grasso.
"But the visit of the honorary vice-consul was not allowed.
"In the coming days he will try again to obtain permission to meet her", said Grasso. (ANSA).
