Monday urged his Iranian counterpart Ali Bagher to help avert a
retaliation against Israel in response to last month's
assassinations of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in
Tehran, and of a Hezbollah leader in Beirut, so as not to

Tajani said on X that in a long phone call "I asked for
moderation and a constructive approach, now is the time to avert
reactions that may fuel the conflict in the region jeopardising
the work for a ceasefire in Gaza.
