(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 11 - Israel's attacks on UNIFIL will be on
the agenda of Monday's meeting of European Union foreign
ministers in Luxembourg, a high-ranking EU official said Friday.
The issue of the attack on the UN forces of UNIFIL by Israel
will be on the table of the 27 EU foreign ministers meeting on
Monday at the Council in Luxembourg, the senior European
official said, adding that a statement of condemnation by the 27
on the incidents is being studied.
High Representative Josep Borrell has already called the attacks
unacceptable.
"We are waiting to see what the member states will say, if it is
judged to be too risky a step by Israel," the official added.
"There are thousands of Blue Helmets deployed around the world,
just think about what the consequences of this escalation could
be."
