(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 11 - Defence Minister Guido Crosetto on
Friday said he had phoned the chair of the union of Italian
Jewish communities, Noemi Di Segni, to thank her for the
sympathy she voiced with Italian UNIFIL troops who have come
under attack by the Israeli Defence Force in Lebanon.
"Today, I called the president of the Union of Italian Jewish
Communities, Noemi Di Segni, and thanked her for her words of
closeness to the Italian military and the UNIFIL mission in
Lebanon, but also for her words of gratitude to the Italian
government for its commitment to the safety of its citizens in
Italy and abroad" said Crosetto.
"I also assured her that my firm and very severe condemnation of
what happened against the UNIFIL contingent in Lebanon will
never be separated from my constant action, that of the Defense
and of the entire government, against any resurgence of
anti-Semitism, whether overt or creeping". (ANSA).
